The new Homosexual Bible- The Queen James Bible

I have come to the realization for some time now, that when men wants to support their lifestyle, regardless of it being right or wrong, they will try to change anything that goes against this, including the infallible Word of God, the Bible which should not be altered. Throughout history, mankind has always tried to alter the Word of God, or to misinterpret the written Word of God to support their behavior.

If you haven’t heard the news as yet, then you are late. From the editors of Queen James comes a new and revised edition to the King James Bible called, The new Queen James Bible. This Bible was written to support the practice of Homosexuality, a practice that is against God.

We wanted to understand how far these translators went to support the lifestyle of a growing population and to learn a little about this new translation, the Queen James Bible. Let me hasten to say that this article was not written to bash any group, person or individual or company, I am simple doing a review of this new version like I will do with any other book review and expressing my RIGHT to freedom of speech like every other group or person have done. Let me start by saying that these translators have ignore the Word of God, which is the Bible, which has commanded us saying: “Do not add to what I command you and do not subtract from it, but keep the commands of the LORD your God that I give you”- Deuteronomy 4:2

“Do not add to his words, or he will rebuke you and prove you a liar”.-Proverbs 30:6

“See that you do all I command you; do not add to it or take away from it.”- Deuteronomy 12:32

Now let the review begins:

The Queen James Bible published by Queen James claims to be the first ever gay friendly translation of the Bible. According to the publishers, as stated on their Amazon purchase page:

“Homosexuality was first mentioned in the Bible in 1946, in the Revised Standard Version. There is no mention of or reference to homosexuality in any Bible prior to this – only interpretations have been made. Anti-LGBT Bible interpretations commonly cite only eight verses in the Bible that they interpret to mean homosexuality is a sin; Eight verses in a book of thousands!

The Queen James Bible seeks to resolve interpretive ambiguity in the Bible as it pertains to homosexuality: We edited those eight verses in a way that makes homophobic interpretations impossible.”

From my understanding why the editors sought to accomplish, I have come to the understanding that they did not approach the translation of the Bible in a objective manner, but base on their own believes and practice “We edited those eight verses in a way that makes homophobic interpretations impossible”. This is the first mistakes they made; it is a proven fact that when you approach any interpretation base on your own subjective views, you will fall into problems, any revised edition of the Bible therefore should be done without any bias, and should not be only a revised translation of few verses that clearly forbid your practices. What if gunmen decided one day to revise the Bible to show that killing someone is right in the sight of God?

This “A Fabulous Bible” allow the homosexuals the opportunity to choose Jesus without feeling guilty and having to deal with scriptures that forbids their behavior, which person from the homosexual community wouldn’t be tempted by this prospect? The publisher believes that sexuality is not a choice, you were born that way, thereby further deceiving homosexuals who may be thinking of changing their lifestyle. Now they don’t have to, “you can’t choose your sexuality, but you can choose Jesus. Now you can choose a Bible, too.” The Queen James Bible therefore resolves any homophobic interpretations of the Bible. The publisher of The Queen James Bible further asserts that:

“The Bible is still filled with inequality and even contradiction that we have not addressed. No Bible is perfect, including this one. We wanted to make a book filled with the word of God that nobody could use to incorrectly condemn God’s LGBT children, and we succeeded.”

This new version of the King James Bible resolves “long-standing interpretive ambiguity in key Bible passages regarding homosexuality” which according to the publishers correctly translates the Christian scriptures.

So which verses did the publisher of The Queen James Bible sought to change?

These new updates are:

  1. Genesis 19:5

KJV: And they called unto Lot, and said unto him, Where are the men which came in to thee this night? Bring them out unto us, that we may know them.

QJV: And they called unto Lot, and said unto him, Where are the men which came in to thee this night? Bring them out unto us, that we may rape and humiliate them. (Page 21)

  1. Leviticus 18:22

KJV: Thou shalt not lie with mankind, as with womankind: it is an abomination.

QJV: Thou shalt not lie with mankind as with womankind in the temple of Molech: it is an abomination. (Page 75) (Molech was a pagan idol)

  1. Leviticus 20:13

KJV: If a man also lie with mankind, as he lieth with a woman, both of them have committed an abomination: they shall surely be put to death; their blood shall be upon them.

QJV: If a man also lie with mankind in the temple of Molech, as he lieth with a woman, both of them have committed an abomination: they shall surely be put to death; their blood shall be upon them. (Page 76)

KJV: For this cause God gave them up unto vile affections: for even their women did change the natural use into that which is against their nature.

QJV: Their women did change their natural use into that which is against nature: And likewise also the men, left of the natural use of the woman, burned in ritual lust, one toward another. (Page 545)

KJV: And likewise also the men, leaving the natural use of the woman, burned in their lust one toward another; men with men working that which is unseemly, and receiving in themselves that recompence of their error which was meet.

QJV: Men with men working that which is pagan and unseemly. For this cause God gave the idolators up unto vile affections, receiving in themselves that recompence of their error which was meet. (Page 545)

  1. 1 Corinthians 6:9

KJV: Know ye not that the unrighteous shall not inherit the kingdom of God? Be not deceived: neither fornicators, nor idolaters, nor adulterers, nor effeminate, nor abusers of themselves with mankind.

KJV: Even as Sodom and Gomorrah, and the cities about them in like manner, giving themselves over to fornication, and going after strange flesh, are set forth for an example, suffering the vengeance of eternal fire.

QJV: Even as Sodom and Gomorrah, and the cities about them in like manner, giving themselves over to fornication, and going after nonhuman flesh, are set forth for an example, suffering the vengeance of eternal fire. (Page 593)

One of the many things I do not understand about this new translation is that why didn’t they “correctly translate the Christian scriptures” if the translation we now have is incorrect, why is it that the publishers didn’t seek to ‘correct’ the other ‘mistakes’ of the King James Bible? I would have thought that if you have notice errors in a translation then you would seek to correct ALL of these errors, and not just a few to support your behavior by changing the purpose of a few verses.

For example, although the editors realize the difficulty of translating the Hebrew word to’evah in Leviticus 18:22 with something less than “abomination” as they stated:

“To simply replace “abomination” with “taboo” would only address 18:22, and not the death penalty proposed in 20:13. Furthermore, we don’t believe homosexual relations to be taboo, so that solution would have been unsatisfactory. Since abominable offenses aren’t all punishable by death like this one leads us to believe there was translative error at some point: If having sex with a man is punishable by death, it wouldn’t be called an abomination. Therefore, we left the word abomination as is, and found a much more elegant and logically clear solution to this interpretive ambiguity…”

What did they do to suit their own purpose? They bypass this difficulty by claiming that the abomination was not of sexual relationship between two men but it was only an abomination for two men to have sex if they did it as an act of pagan worship in the temple of an idol.

My question is, why didn’t they also correct the other verses that condemns bestiality, adultery etc using the same logic? There is simple not a hint in the chapter that adultery or incest or bestiality or homosexual practice are condemned only if committed in a pagan temple. What these translators have done is to simple changed the incorruptible word of God to fit their own sexuality which no group or individual should be allowed to do. One of the good things I love about the bible is that it is relevant for all ages; no verses are outdated as stated by the editors of the Queen James Bible, while making predictions for the future. One such prediction is

“For the time will come when people will not put up with sound doctrine. Instead, to suit their own desires, they will gather around them a great number of teachers to say what their itching ears want to hear.”-2 Timothy 4:3 (NIV)

No doubt we are seeing this being manifested in our days. The argument by the editors that the word homosexual was never mentioned in the bible, however, what they seem not to understand is that according to Douglas J. Moo, Wessner Chair of Biblical Studies at Wheaton College and a professional Bible translator “the history of English translation shows that versions have consistently used other language to refer to what we would call homosexual relationships.” Catholic Online also voice their concerns about this new translation by arguing that “The Queen James Bible seeks to legitimize the homosexual equivalency movement by changing the language of the Bible”. By misrepresenting the word of God in the way they have done they have made the word of God a lie and “changed the glory of the uncorruptible God..”-Romans 1:23. This version shows that men will stop at nothing to support their views and lifestyle.

 

The editors and publisher seems to forget that one of the main reason, if not the sole reason, for God destroying Sodom and Gomorrah was because of their immoral acts, chief among them was homosexuality. Instead they insinuate that homosexuality began as a pagan practice, and is only prohibited when the sexual acts are done in the name of paganism (by changing Leviticus 18:21).

So why did they name their bible “Queen James Bible” the editors claimed that King James 1 was known by biographers as a bisexual and that “Though he did marry a woman, his many gay relationships were so well-known that amongst some of his friends and court, he was known as “Queen James.” It is in his great debt and honor that we name The Queen James Bible so.”

What next will man do in order to support their own sinful behaviors? Perhaps we will have a new translation that which instead of saying “Thou shalt not commit adultery” will say “Thou shalt not commit adultery unless you are tired of your sexual partner”.
