Standing on the Word of God

The spiritual war we all have to fight

The bible say that, “From the days of John the Baptist until now, the kingdom of heaven has been forcefully advancing, and forceful men lay hold of it”- St. Matthew 11:12 (The NIV Study Bible). We are living in a time when men and women have to fight to enter into the Kingdom of God, and when they enter they still have to fight to stay; it’s a fight to be saved. We are living in a time when it takes great courage, vigor and determination to be saved than it was in time past due to circumstances we face each day.

There is no doubt that we are now living in the last days when men hearts have become desperately wicked, lovers of themselves and pleasures than lovers of God, despiser of those that are good, when men have a form of godliness but never according to truth etc.- 2 Timothy 3:1-7. We are living in a time when men have simple forget about God and would laugh you to scorn when you profess Christ and holiness. A time when men are trying to take God out public space, even schools. We are living in a time when marital unfaithfulness and divorce becomes the norms, there is no real value in marriage and sex; when it is like you have committed a great crime when you tell someone that you’re a virgin; a time when getting pregnant at age 16 or even outside of marriage seems like the best option and marriage seems to be getting obsolete. We are indeed living in the last days.

The question now is, if I am a Christian how can I stand? How can I remain faithful to God especially when I am facing discouragement from all aspects of my life? The kingdom of heaven indeed suffers violence and the violentt we have to take it by force-St. Matthew 11:12.

You may feel like you can’t make it, like you have to comply with the world’s view of dress, music, form of worship etc., but I am here to tell you that YOU DON’T HAVE TO. The bible lets us know that God will never leads us on a road that He himself had never walk on neither will he ever cause us to be tested above what we are able to bear- 1 Corinthians 10:13

If you trust and obey God he will give you the strength to overcome. Daniel and the three Hebrew boys faced very similar temptations as we do now: temptations to follow the system of the world and forsake God; but despite the fact that everyone around them was serving a false God and they lived in a corrupt and ungodly world, they remained faithful to God until their death.

None of us were not made to break as before you were conceived in your mother’s womb God knew you and equipped you with the skills needed for you to make it; it was already done in the spiritual realm only to be manifested by trials, prophesies, our actions and circumstances in the physical realm. You may feel like you are not able to overcome the temptations, being ridicule by others, the many trials you face each but God is saying to you, “and as thy days, so shall thy strength be”- Deuteronomy 33:25. What kind of day are you having? God will give you enough strength to make it through the day; you shall not go under.

The Bible says that we have an High Priest that knows what we are going through and is able to help us as he was once human and like us, faced many temptations and testing while on earth (Hebrews 2: 17-18). Jesus was able to endure the persecutions, temptations and testing because he knew who he was, who had called him, his purpose, and he stand on the Word of God. He knew that his heavenly Father would always be with him and give him enough strength to face each day.

You are not Jesus neither any of the prophets or apostles in the Bible, but like they overcame many great and trying times and came out victorious, so can each one of us.

I want to urge you to hold on to GOD with all your strength, when the dust settles only what you do for God and how you lived your life will matter; not your friends, the money, how many sexual partner you’ve been with, your educational background and accomplishment or anything else upon the face of the earth.

“Be patient therefore, brethren, unto the coming of the Lord. Behold, the husbandman waited for the precious fruit of the earth, and hath long patience for it, until he receive the early and latter rain”-James 5:7

“And behold, I come quickly; and my reward is with me, to give every man according as his work shall be…..blessed are they that do his commandments that they may have right to the tree of life, and may enter in through the gates into the city”- Revelation 22:12,14

“….I am with you alway, even unto the end of the world…”- St Matthew 28:20

Your testing is for a purpose

“And thou shalt remember all the way which the Lord thy God led thee these forty years in the wilderness, to humble thee, and to prove thee, to know what was in thine heart, whether thou wouldest keep his commandments, or not. And he humbled thee, and suffered thee to hunger, and fed thee with manna, which thou knewest not, neither did thy fathers know; that he might make thee to know that man doeth not live by bread only, but by every word that proceedeth out of the mouth of the Lord doeth man live”-Deuteronomy 8: 2-3 (comp this with Joshua 5:11-12)

AFTER YOU’VE DONE ALL THAT YOU CAN, JUST STAND!!
